We are delighted that Bonnie Anderson, President of the House of Deputies of the Episcopal Church, has accepted Bishop Price’s invitation to keynote ECSF’s 2008 grantseekers’ workshop. She will give a policy update on the National Church’s work on domestic poverty and social justice. Bishop Price has also asked her to share her perspective of the 2008 Lambeth Conference of the Anglican Communion, which will have just concluded. Anderson was elected President of the House of Deputies at the 75th General Convention in Columbus in 2006. She serves on numerous church boards and committees, including the Committee on the Status of Women, the Investment Committee, CREDO Advisory Board, and the Anti-Racism Training Team for the Episcopal Church. As an adjunct faculty member for several years at the University of Michigan, Anderson taught courses in the Women's Studies Department, and in the School of Natural Resources. Anderson's published works include "Spirituality and the Earth, Exploring Connections," and "A Citizen's Guidebook to the Great Lakes Ecosystem." Her keynote address will be followed by a funder’s panel discussing how churches or church-sponsored non-profits can make an effective pitch for government, foundation, and business grants – as well as from Episcopal sources. Lunch is an opportunity to network on shared mission priorities. How-to workshops in the afternoon will be offered twice. Each participant can choose two.
